STIFFENER SLOTS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide stiffener slots through which a metal fitting such as a turnbuckle cannot pass under such an arrangement that the stiffener for each of outer plates of a light vehicle deck is made of a flat steel having substantially the same cross sectional area as the conventional art cross sectional area. SOLUTION: In the vehicle decks of an automobile exclusive transporting ship, vehicle decks positioned above are used as light vehicle decks 102 to 104 and vehicle decks positioned below are used as heavy vehicle decks, respectively. The stiffeners 1 made of a flat steel are welded to an outer plate 100 of the light vehicle decks positioned at the lower-most portions of the light vehicle decks being applied as interfaces. The stiffeners made of unequal leg angles are welded to the outer plate where the heavy vehicle decks are positioned, and the light vehicle deck except the light vehicle deck positioned at the lower-most portion is provided, at the position of the stiffener, with slots 2 having a width of the stiffener made of the flat steel, a width having a working margin added to its depth and a depth.
