Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commercial method for producing a 5-bromo-2-(1-(substituted amino)ethyl)benzoic acid ester by which operation is simple, and the yield is high without using methylene chloride. SOLUTION: The method for production including reacting a 2-(1-(substituted amino)ethyl)benzoic acid with a brominating agent in the presence of an acid and an alcohol is useful as the industrial method for producing the 5-bromo-2-(1-(substituted amino)ethyl)benzoic acid ester represented by formula (wherein, R2means lower alkyl; and R1means lower alkyl which may be substituted).
