DETECTION METHOD FOR ESTIMATING NON-ALCOHOLIC STEATOHEPATITIS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection method for inferring non-alcoholic steatohepatitis that cannot be readily determined, or to provide a biomarker for diagnosis, its antibody, diagnostic agent, diagnosis method, and a method of detecting blood or serum. SOLUTION: By the detection method, it is inferred that a subject suffers from non-alcoholic steatohepatitis by specific biomatter (serum) featuring measurement of MnSOD concentration in the specific biomatter (serum) of the subject. According to the method, it is inferred that the subject suffers from non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, when the MnSOD concentration of the specific biomatter is not less than a threshold calculated by a receiver operation characteristic curve by measurement by using an immunological method. The MnSOD can be readily utilized for performing diagnosis or for medical examination of non-alcoholic steatohepatitis through the antibody of the MnSOD, kit, diagnostic agent, diagnosis method, or measurement of the concentration in blood.
