LOWER BACK PANEL STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure rigidity of a rear side member aft end along with torsional stiffness of a vehicle body in a lower back panel arranged along a lower edge of a rear opening of the vehicle and having the rear side member connected thereto at points near each of right and left ends, and to reduce cost. SOLUTION: The lower back panel 1 includes a lower back inner panel 3 formed into an elongated shape along a width direction of the vehicle, and a lower back outer panel 2 to be attached to cover the lower back inner panel from the outside. The lower back inner panel and the lower back outer panel form a closed cross section area S, and at least one of the lower back inner panel and the lower back outer panel has a longitudinal wall section 2a formed near a coupling part 4 with the rear side member as a plane perpendicular to the width direction of the vehicle and a flat section 2b formed as a plane along the width direction of the vehicle on the side of the longitudinal wall section.
