DEVELOPING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing apparatus that suppresses high temperature of developer, without causing increase in the size of the developing apparatus and making the transport force for developer deteriorate, and to provide an image forming apparatus that employs the developing apparatus. SOLUTION: The developing apparatus 4 includes a developing sleeve 41 that develops an electrostatic latent image on a photoreceptor; a first screw transport member 43 facing the sleeve and used for transporting developer in an axial direction; and a second screw transport member 44 used for transporting the developer in its axial direction and in a direction opposite the transport member 43. The developing device 4 is provided with a guide member 46. The guide member is disposed in a region adjacent to the dead end of at least one of screw blades provided on rotary shafts of the transport member 43 and the transport member 44, with the dead ends of screw blades being disposed at the developer transportoutside ends of the transport members and the guide member has an inclined face 461 for leading and guiding developer to the transport inside end of the transport member.
