IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that reliably ejects paper P remaining in an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 includes: an ejection/inversion roller 21 that ejects paper P out of the apparatus or inverts the paper P within the apparatus; a one-sided conveyance path 43 formed from a paper feed path for feeding paper P to a secondary transfer section 34 and a conveyance path along which paper P passed through the secondary transfer section 34 is conveyed to the ejection/inversion roller 21; and a both-sided conveyance path 44 along which paper P inverted by the ejection/inversion roller 21 is conveyed to the one-sided conveyance path 43. If the paper P remaining on the one-sided conveyance path 43 is not detected by detection sensors 53, 54, and 55 when the image forming apparatus 100 is started or it is re-started after jam detection, conveying rollers 40 and 41 and a resist roller 19 are rotated. Thus, a conveying operation using both-sided conveyance path 44 is started and then the ejection/inversion roller 21 is rotated to perform an ejecting operation in the one-sided conveyance path 43.
