Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing spherical metal oxide powder which reduces the quantity of foreign matter, particularly the quantity of magnetizable foreign matter. SOLUTION: The method for producing spherical metal oxide powder comprises the steps of injecting at least one raw material powder selected from metal oxide powders and metal hydroxide powders into flame to form a spherical powder and recovering the spherical powder with a collector, wherein the method for producing spherical metal oxide powder comprises a step of passing the raw material powder through a foreign matter removal unit to reduce the quantity of foreign matter having a particle diameter of ≥45 μm in the raw material powder to ≤450 pieces/50 g.
