PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sorter for fruits, vegetables or the like, capable of surely preventing an object to be sorted from being discharged therefrom by error without decreasing its sorting capacity. SOLUTION: The sorter including a plurality of trays 2 whereon objects S to be sorted are placed, a transfer means for transferring the plurality of trays 2, a determining means for deciding the quality of the objects S present on the plurality of trays 2, and a discharging means for discharging the objects S on the trays 2 to a plurality of sorting chutes 7, is constructed in such a manner that the discharging means is made capable of tilting the trays 2 to allow the objects S on the trays 2 to fall into the sorting chutes 7, and an overturn preventive member 72 capable of preventing the tilting of the trays 2 is disposed so as to prevent the tilting of front and rear trays 2 adjacent to a tray 2 tilted by the discharging means.
