Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent device having effective life and light output which are not deteriorated even under exposure to high temperature, and having economical, highly reliable, durable and commercially practical properties. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent device includes: a translucent first conductive layer 201 disposed on a substrate 203; an electron-transporting and light-emitting layer 209; a second conductive layer 211 separated from the first conductive layer 201; and a hole transporting layer 205 which is sandwiched between the first conductive layer 201 and the electron-transporting and light-emitting layer 209 and composed of poly(arylamine) containing at least one compound in the formula (I).
