Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide use of a specific detergent composition in a lubricating oil composition for decreasing abrasion in an engine. SOLUTION: There is provided use, in a minor amount, of a detergent composition and in an lubricant oil composition for decreasing abrasion in an engine, which detergent composition contains one or more metal detergents comprising metal salts of organic acids, wherein the detergent composition comprises a metal salt of an aromatic carboxylic acid and of an amount of more than 50 mol%, based on the mole number of the metal salts of organic acids in the detergent composition, and the amount of phosphorus and sulfur in the oil composition is less than 0.09 mass% and at most 0.5 mass% respectively, based on the mass of the lubricating oil composition.
