MEMORY DEVICE WITH BIOMETRIC AUTHENTICATION FUNCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory device with a biometric authentication function, which is highly convenient, with consideration given to security. SOLUTION: The memory device 1 with a biometric authentication function includes a first memory 10, a second memory 20, a control part 30, a biological information acquisition part 40, and a first external interface part 50. The first memory 10 for storing biometric authentication information 12 for specifying an individual cannot be accessed from an external device 100 through the first external interface part 50. The second memory 20 is physically separated from the first memory 10. The biological information acquisition part 40 acquires biological information of a user. The control part 30 collates biological information acquired by the biological information acquisition part 40 with the biometric authentication information 12, and controls, based on the collation result, whether to permit access to the second memory 20 from the external device 100 through the first external interface 50.
