Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacer of a fuel assembly for reducing the load due to the interference between a channel box and the spacer and for facilitating the quick release of the channel box in the inspection of the fuel assembly, to ensure the mechanical soundness of the spacer by assuming an increase of the outer width of the spacer during an operation. SOLUTION: In the spacer of the fuel assembly for arranging a plurality of fuel rods 4 filled with a nuclear fuel substance to be installed in the channel box 7 and water rods 5 in which a part of a cooling material flows in square lattice to maintain the mutual distance, at least one projection part 62 is disposed only on the one corner side in each of the outer side faces of the outer frame 61 of the spacer 6.
