PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container having a turnover mechanism holding a stable spring posture wherein a spring is prevented from falling outside even if the spring is compressed when a lid is opened/closed. SOLUTION: The container comprises a container body 1, the lid 2 freely swingably held on the container body 1 for opening/closing an opening of the container body 1, and an opening/closing mechanism 3 provided on a side wall of the container body 1 for opening/closing the lid 2. The lid 2 includes a supporting section 20, and the opening/closing mechanism 3 includes a connection member 30 having one end pivoted to the container body 1 and the other end engaged with the supporting section 20 for connecting the container body 1 and the lid 2 and a turnover spring 40 having one spring leg 44 hooked to the container body 1 and the other spring leg 44 hooked to the connection member 30. A rib 26 is formed as a protrusion on the outer face of the supporting section 20. The hooked end 43 of the other spring leg 44 is arranged in slide contact with the rib 26 along the swinging locus of the hooking end 43 when the connection member 30 is swung according to swinging motion of the lid 2.
