ANTIMICROBIAL PILE YARN, METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, ANTIMICROBIAL MAT, AND ANTIMICROBIAL MOP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antimicrobial pile yarn substantially declining in no own high antimicrobial effect even if washed repeatedly, that is, capable of exhibiting its own high antimicrobial effects in high sustainability. SOLUTION: The antimicrobial pile yarn 5 is such that a plurality of primary-twist yarns 3 are intertwisted together. In the pile yarn 5, there are adhesion layers 40 made from a molten resin at a rate of 1.0 wt.% or more per pile yarn at the helical contact interfaces among the primary-twist yarns 3; the primary-twist yarns 3 are mutually bonded via the adhesion layers 40; each of the adhesion layers 40 has an antimicrobial agent at a rate of 1.0 wt.% or more, wherein the antimicrobial agent is dispersed throughout the adhesion layers 40.
