PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of appropriately performing an image processing as one image processing module, even if a plurality of narrow-width image processing modules are mounted, and to provide an image processing module. SOLUTION: Image processing ASICs 50a-50c mounted in a multifunction peripheral that includes a plurality of image processing function sections 63c-66c each for performing image processing on input image data, while a built-in memory 68c is used, according to a register value set to its register section and operation-enable control sections 69a-69c; and activation control sections 70a-70c, register I/F sections 71a-71c and memory selector sections 67a-67c perform setting control of register values to register sections of image processing function sections 63a, 63b, 63c-66a, 66b, 66c and utilization control of the internal memory 68c, on the basis of the presence/absence of multiple connections, according to a mode setting signal, determinations on image processing contents that are partially charged by the image processing ASICs 50a-50c and register value information from a CPU 6.
