SOLUTION: The fuel cell is equipped with a cathode 2 including a cathode gas diffusion layer 7 and a cathode catalyst layer 5, an anode 3 including an anode gas diffusion layer 10 and an anode catalyst layer 8, an electrolyte membrane 4 arranged between the cathode catalyst layer 5 and the anode catalyst layer 8, and a porous layer arranged at least either between the cathode gas diffusion layer 7 and the cathode catalyst layer 5 or between the anode gas diffusion layer 10 and the anode catalyst layer 8, with an opening ratio of 9×10-5to 30×10-5%, and a thickness of less than 140 μm.
