Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document carrying device for detecting abnormal carrying of a document by efficiently using few sensors. SOLUTION: This document carrying device 10 includes a carrier roller 25 for carrying the document 81, first and second arms 281L and 281R juxtaposed in the orthogonal direction to the carrying direction of the document and rotated by the document, a sensor 28 for detecting that the first and second arms rotate by a predetermined angle or more, a determining means 102 for determining whether or not the carrying of the document is abnormal based on a detecting result from the sensor, and a carrying control means 103 for stopping the carrier roller when the determining means determines that the carrying of the document is abnormal.
