SLIDING SCREEN DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an installation cost of a sliding screen device and simplify installation work thereof by eliminating a stopper of a sliding screen-side crosspiece of a known sliding screen device. SOLUTION: In this sliding screen device, wherein a screen 7 is wound around a winding member 20 provided in an upper portion between a pair of guide frames 10 which is mounted in such a way as to face each other on right and left sides in an indoor-side opening with respect to a sliding-screen fitting position of a window sash 2, an indoor-side crosspiece 23 of crosspieces 22 and 23 fixed to both the ends of the screen is located in the lowermost position of the opening when the screen is stretched while both the crosspieces meet each other near a central portion in the longitudinal direction of the guide frame when the screen is not stretched. Either or both of the pair of crosspieces is or are provided with a locking protruding edge 25 which is engaged with the other crosspiece when the indoor-side crosspiece 23 is moved upward from the stretched state of the screen and both the crosspieces reach a position to meet each other, so as to position the indoor-side crosspiece 23 below the sliding screen-side crosspiece 22.
