SOLUTION: There are provided an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor containing a tripeptide expressed by Ile-Xaa-Pro (Xaa is an amino acid except for Pro and Arg) as an active component and a method for producing the inhibitor. The tripeptide can be produced also by chemical synthesis or separated from a natural biological resource. Algal spirulina rich in proteins is especially suitable as the natural biological resource.
