Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid diesel railcar for surely reducing fuel consumption, noise, and exhaust gas by simple constitution. SOLUTION: The diesel railcar includes an engine E which drives driving wheels W, an electric power generation motor M, an electrical accumulation means B, and a control means C. When starting, electric power is supplied from the electrical accumulation means B to the electric power generation motor M to assist drive of the engine E by the electric power generation motor M. In power running, power supply to the electric power generation motor M and power generation by the electric power generation motor M are stopped. When braking, power generation is carried out by the electric power generation motor M, and regenerated power is charged in the electrical storage means B. A driving power quantity supplied from the electrical storage means B to the electric power generation motor M in starting is set to be lower than a residual power quantity found by subtracting a power quantity required for operating an auxiliary machine A attached to the diesel railcar from the regenerated power quantity charged in the electrical storage means B. A rotary shaft S2 of the electric power generation motor M is directly connected to a driving shaft S1 of the engine E to be turned integrally. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
