Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosensitive composition for a volume hologram recording, the composition having high sensitivity, a refractive index modulation (Δn) of 0.01 or more and high heat resistance, in which movement (diffusive movement) in monomers is easy even when high heat is not applied, although the composition is in a solid state. SOLUTION: The photosensitive composition includes: (a) a radial polymerizable monomer having no aromatic ring in the molecule but having a propylene oxide chain; (b) an epoxy compound having an aromatic ring in the molecule; (c) a polymer binder having a cation polymerizable group and an aromatic ring in the molecule and having a number average molecular weight of 5,000 to 50,000; (d) a photo-radical polymerization initiator system that is sensitized by laser light at a specified wavelength to polymerize the component (a); and (e) a photo-cation polymerization initiator system that has low photosensitivity to the light sensitizing the component (d) but is sensitized by light at another wavelength to polymerize the component (b); wherein the average refractive index of the component (a) is controlled to be lower than the average refractive index of the component (b).
