EXISTING PIPE RECONSTRUCTION/PROPULSION SYSTEM AND CUTTER HEAD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutter head for an existing pipe reconstruction/propulsion system, which has a simple structure to give enough vibrations to fragmentize chips into short and fine pieces, thus improves efficiency in discharging chips. SOLUTION: The body of the cutter head 20 is fitted to an edge ring 23 which includes a front plate 24 having cutter bits 26, 27, and 28 fitted on its front face and is fixed to the front end of a leading pipe 21, via a bearing to allow the body to rotate freely. The cutter head is provided with a microvibration generating mechanism which transforms the rotation of body of the cutter head into vibrations to give the body microvibrations in the direction of front-to-rear propulsion.
