METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SUPPLYING PRESS PLATE AUTOMATICALLY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide selective constitution for supplying automatically a press plate to a clamp rail of a plate cylinder position-accurately for the press plate, by improving a method of supplying automatically the press plate, in the method of supplying the press plate automatically to the plate cylinder of a printer, in particular, a paper sheet offset printer, in the method wherein a front edge of the press plate is introduced into the clamp rail of the plate cylinder by a plurality of conveying means contactable with the press plate, wherein position-corrective abutting of the press plate is inspected in two portions within the clamp rail having a space mutually along an axial direction of the plate cylinder, in the clamp rail, and wherein the press plate is fixed thereafter within the clamp rail, when a posture is position-accurate. SOLUTION: The press plate 30 is contact-released from the first conveying means 31, 33; 32, 34 at a prescribed interval, when the press plate 30 abuts position-accurately on only one portion of the clamp rail 46, the press plate 30 is thereafter brought into re-contact with the conveying means, and the second conveying means 32, 34; 31, 33 keep contact with the press plate.
