IMAGE FORMING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device achieved high productivity by increasing the rotation speed of an image carrier while restraining the charging unevenness of the image carrier and improving image quality even if the size of a charging means along the rotation direction of the image carrier is larger than a charging control region of the image carrier which is divided into a plurality of pieces. SOLUTION: The image forming device includes: the image carrier whose surface is divided into the plurality of charging control regions along the moving direction; the charging means which has charging regions set wider along the moving direction of the image carrier than the charging control regions of the image carrier and charges the surface of the image carrier to predetermined electric potential; a charging potential detecting means which detects the charging potential of the image carrier; and a timing changing means which changes timing to switch a voltage applied to the charging means corresponding to the charging control region of the image carrier based on the detection result of the charging potential detecting means.
