METHOD OF CONTROLLING AIR CONDITIONER, AND AIR CONDITIONER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling an air conditioner, and the air conditioner capable of improving heating performance in a low temperature region, improving operation efficiency, and reducing manufacturing costs. SOLUTION: This method of controlling the air conditioner, provided with a plurality of compressors which are switchable between series and parallel connections, includes: an inside air temperature comparing step S3 for comparing an indoor air temperature with a prescribed inside air temperature; outside air temperature comparing steps S4, S6 for comparing an outdoor air temperature with a first outside air temperature and a second outside air temperature higher than the first outside air temperature; a capacity priority step S5 for connecting the plurality of compressors in parallel, when the indoor air temperature is lower than the prescribed inside air temperature and the outdoor air temperature is lower than the first outside air temperature; and an efficiency priority step S7 for connecting the plurality of compressors in series, when the indoor air temperature is higher than the prescribed inside air temperature and the outdoor air temperature is higher than the second outside air temperature.
