Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently removing impurities from a hydrocarbon oil including impurities, e.g. nickel, vanadium and sulfur, at low cost. SOLUTION: A Lewis acid solution 20 containing a Lewis acid 22 and an aprotic solvent 26 is added to the hydrocarbon oil 10 including a plurality of impurities such as sulfur, vanadium and nickel impurities 11 to form a mixture 38. Complexes are formed between the Lewis acid of the Lewis acid solution and each of the impurities in the mixture. The mixture is separated into a first layer that includes a purified fraction of the hydrocarbon oil and a second layer that includes the complexes dissolved in the aprotic solvent.
