Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a composition by an improved hydrothermal synthesis method, by which a composition containing an ABO3compound comprising uniform, fine spherical particles whose average particle diameter is ≤1 μm, preferably 0.01-0.5 μm, and having high crystallinity, an arbitrarily controlled A/B ratio, and a small number of vacancies of nanometer size in crystal grains thereof can be obtained. SOLUTION: The method for producing the composition containing a perovskite type compound includes a first step of dehydrating a hydrated oxide of at least one B group element selected from Ti, Zr, Hf and Sn by bringing the hydrated oxide into a hydrothermal reaction at a temperature within a range of 100-300°C, and a second step of hydrothermally reacting a reaction product obtained at the first step and a hydroxide of at least one A group element selected from Ba, Sr, Ca, Mg and Pb at a temperature within a range of 100-300°C in the presence of an aqueous medium.
