SOLUTION: The treatment of schizophrenia and/or methods, compounds and compositions for preventing and/or delaying onset and/or symptom expression of schizophrenia by using hydrogenated [4,3-b]indoles or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof are provided. The methods and the compositions may include a compound including the compound dimebon (2,8-dimethyl-5-(2-(6-methyl-3-pyridyl)ethyl)-2,3,4,5-tetrahydro-1H-pyrido[4,3-b]indole dibasic acid salt) without limitation.
