VISCOUS COUPLING AND SUSPENSION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viscous coupling capable of flexibly changing a damping force, and a suspension device, to which the viscous coupling is mounted. SOLUTION: This viscous coupling 10 comprises a first case body 30 forming a first operation chamber 12, a shaft 20, a second case body 40 forming first operation chamber 14, a plurality of first plates 24 connected to the shaft 20, a plurality of second plates 36 fixed to the first case body 30 and arranged in the first operation chamber 12 alternately with the first plates 24, a plurality of third plates 38 fixed on an outer face of the first case body 30, and a plurality of fourth plates 46 fixed to the second case body 40 and arranged in the second operation chamber 14 alternately with the third plate 38. The viscous coupling 10 has a first condition for generating a damping force in the first operation chamber 12, and a second condition for generating a damping force different from the damping force generated under the first condition in the second operation chamber 14.
