Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a bipolar zero-gap type electrolytic cell that performs stable electrolysis at a high current density with a simple and reliable structure, from a bipolar finite electrolytic cell. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the bipolar zero-gap type electrolytic cell from the bipolar finite electrolytic cell, in which an anode chamber having an anode 11 and a cathode chamber having a cathode 1 are arranged back to back, is characterized by: setting the cathode as a conductive plate; providing a cushion mat layer 2 stacked on the conductive plate 2; and providing a new cathode 1 stacked on the cushion mat layer 2 in such manner that the cathode 1 is located so as to contact with a cationic exchange membrane arranged between adjacent electrolytic cells.
