Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing chloropolysilane wherein hydrogenated chloropolysilane in a liquid containing the hydrogenated chloropolysilane, to form chloropolysilane, is selectively chlorinated so as not to produce a waste gas containing harmful chlorine generated in the chlorination reaction. SOLUTION: An energy-saving safe production method for selectively forming chloropolysilane by perfectly consuming chlorine by adding chlorine in an amount smaller than the reaction equivalent calculated from the amount of hydrogenated chloropolysilane and reacting them under sealed condition is provided.
