DISK DRIVE AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING TIMING OF DETECTING SERVO DATA

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust a timing by an efficient process in accordance with a change of time interval between servo sectors. SOLUTION: In an HDD, the time interval of the servo sectors is measured in the process of following for reading or writing user data, and a timing signal for detecting the servo sectors is controlled in accordance with the measurement result. The HDD specifies one of a plurality of specific zones including the measurement result of the time interval. On the basis of zones of the plurality of time intervals in the past, the change of time interval is discriminated, and when the change of time interval is within a prescribed range, the timing for detecting the servo sectors is changed.
