Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating an electrode material which can efficiently recover noble metals contained in the electrode material of a used polymer electrolyte fuel cell as a catalyst without generating harmful substances or the like without waste. SOLUTION: The method for recovering noble metals contained as a catalyst in the electrode material of a fuel cell comprises: a wet leaching stage where the extraction of noble metal components contained in the electrode material is performed by wet leaching treatment; a measurement stage where the content of the noble metals remaining in solid residue obtained after the wet leaching treatment is measured; and a judgement-discrimination stage where the measured value obtained by the measurement stage is compared with a beforehand set threshold value, and discrimination whether the solid residue after the measurement is transited to a recycle stage or is returned to the wet leaching stage is performed.
