Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foaming preventing agent which has good compatibility with an aqueous component in an aqueous coating when contained therein, and makes a coating film, formed by the aqueous coating, excellent in smoothness, distinctiveness, and finished appearance. SOLUTION: The foaming preventing agent for the aqueous coating contains a copolymer of 5 to 90 pts.wt. of ether group-containing alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer (A) represented by chemical formula (1): CH2=C(R1)-COO-(CmH2mO)n-R2and 95 to 10 pts.wt. of alkyl (meth)acrylate monomer (B) represented by chemical formula (2): CH2=C(R3)-COO-R4(2), wherein the copolymer has a weight average molecular weight of 3,000 to 500,000 and a cloud point of 35 to 85°C.
