OPTICAL PEAK POWER DETECTION APPARATUS, AND PULSE LASER GENERATION APPARATUS USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for accurately separating and measuring peak power and average power in order to measure and evaluate the peak power of a pulse in a laser apparatus for generating a pulse string. SOLUTION: The means for distinguishing between the peak power and the average power and simultaneously detects a wavelength-converted laser light generated through a nonlinear optical element, e.g. a nonlinear optical crystal and laser light of an original basic wave, and after converting these optical signals into electric signals by a photodetector, operation for emphasizing the peak power from respective signals is performed by using a device such as a CPU having an operation function to quickly and simply detect the peak power. When using a peak power detection apparatus, the peak power and repeated frequency of a laser pulse can be also fixed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
