| Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which includes a liquid cooling type cooling device with a heat receiving part arranged close to a fixing device, the image forming apparatus protecting a cooling liquid circulation system of the cooling device from heat of the fixing device even when the image forming apparatus is suddenly turned off because of trouble or power failure and the cooling liquid circulation system stops or even when the fixing device abnormally generates heat. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 including the fixing device 6 and the liquid cooling type cooling device 10 that cools a cooling object near the fixing device 6, is provided with a heat blocking mechanism 20 that freely blocks and opens between the heat receiving part (cooling roller 11 and cooling nip) and the fixing device 6 by a shielding member 23 that blocks the heat.
