Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a periphery monitoring device for a vehicle, capable of reducing a transmission load by reducing the number of transmission times of data and performing detection-reporting processing of an obstacle, in a short time. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with ultrasonic sensors 11-18, provided as many as four respectively on both the front and rear sides of the vehicle, storing each discrimination ID corresponding to each installation position, transmitting/receiving an ultrasonic wave, and deriving a distance to an obstacle based on a reflected wave from the obstacle; and a control device 2 for transmitting an operation instruction signal to the ultrasonic sensors 11-18, further, acquiring distance information from the ultrasonic sensors 11-18, and issuing an alarm corresponding thereto. The operation instruction signal includes discrimination ID information constituted of each discrimination ID of the plurality of ultrasonic sensors 11-18, and operation mode information, showing an operation content to be instructed to the plurality of ultrasonic sensors 11-18, and when the discrimination ID information included in the operation instruction signal agrees with own discrimination ID; and the ultrasonic sensors 11-18 are operated, based on the operation mode information included in the operation instruction signal.
