COOLING APPARATUS FOR VEHICLE ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling apparatus for an engine, capable of stably cooling the engine. SOLUTION: The cooling apparatus 10 for the vehicle engine includes a radiator 14 provided within an engine room 11 and in front of the engine 12 for cooling coolant of the engine 12, and a shutter 25 provided in front of the radiator 14 and adjusting an amount of cooling air to be directed toward the radiator 14. The shutter 25 covers part 18 of a core surface 17 with respect to the radiator 14. A baffle plate 22 is provided behind the remaining part 21 of the core surface 17, which is not covered with the shutter 25, for directing the air, passing through the remaining part 21, to outside the engine room 11. Thus, during traveling of the vehicle at an ordinary temperature, the coolant can be sufficiently cooled when the remaining part 21 of the core surface 17 is brought into contact with the air, and the temperature of the coolant can be stable without excessively cooling the coolant, and the engine 12 can be stably cooled.
