CONTROL METHOD OF AUTOMOBILE AND DEVICE THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more smoothly restart an engine with taking the stop position of a generator 20 stopping together with an engine 18 into consideration, in a hybrid vehicle 10 which is restarted by performing cranking by the actuation of the motor of the generator 20 after the engine 18 is automatically stopped. SOLUTION: During the automatic stop of the engine 18, it is stopped in a crank angle position where the torque required when cranking is started during the subsequent restart is minimized. The generator 20 is stopped in a position where the relative position relationship between its rotor 20a and a stator 20b produces the maximum torque. Both the engine 18 and the generator 20 are assembled so that the position where the cranking torque of the engine 18 is minimized and the position where the generator 20 produces the maximum torque correspond to each other.
