STEERING COLUMN DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering column device which prevents rotation of a jacket tube and on which both tilt mechanism and telescopic mechanism are provided. SOLUTION: The steering column device includes: a single jacket tube 1, which supports a steering shaft 2; distance brackets 3 of a two-division structure, which grip the jacket tube 1: a vehicle body mounting bracket 4, which has a pair of sidewalls 4c that grip the distance brackets 3 and that are coupled to the vehicle body; tilt long holes 4e formed in each side-wall 4c; a lock bolt 7, which passes below a lower part of the jacket tube 1 on the distance brackets 3 and which is inserted into the tilt long holes 4e; and a lock means 8, which is provided at one end of the lock bolt 7 to lock the jacket tube 1 by being fastened by a pair of the sidewalls 4c. Recessed grooves 3c are formed on the distance brackets 3 along the vertical direction of the sidewalls 4c. These sidewalls 4c are fitted slidably into the recessed grooves 3c, and restraining means 6 are structured which restrain the distance brackets 3 from rotating to the sidewalls 4c.
