Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip treating apparatus adapted to easily take chips out of a dewatering tank of a centrifugal separator and suppress the occurrence of abnormal vibrations during rotation of the dewatering tank, thereby reducing the possibility of staining the operator's hands. SOLUTION: The chip treating apparatus for spectacle lens processing has the dewatering tank into which a grinding water containing chips from a spectacle lens processor is discharged; and the centrifugal separator for separating the grinding water and the chips by the rotation of the dewatering tank. The chip treating apparatus includes a chip recovery container disposed within the dewatering tank, into which the grinding water containing the chips from the spectacle lens processor is discharged. The chip recovery container has a sidewall and a bottom surface which have outer shapes substantially corresponding to interior shapes of the inner side surface and inner bottom surface of the dewatering tank, and have an outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the inner side surface of the dewatering tank; and an engaging portion disposed at substantially the midportion of the bottom surface or the upper end of the sidewall. A hook of a take-out tool held by the operator's hand is engaged over the engaging portion, or the operator's finger engages the engaging portion. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
