| Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display real-time information without disturbing video viewing of video-on demand (VOD) contents. SOLUTION: A VOD receiving and playback device requests distribution to a VOD distribution server, receives video information and plays back a video image based on the video information. The VOD receiving and playback device comprises: a digital broadcast receiving means for receiving a digital broadcast signal containing real-time information; a real-time information detecting means for detecting real-time information from the digital broadcast signal received by the digital broadcast receiving means; a real-time information output means for creating and outputting a display screen based on the real-time information detected by the real-time information detecting means; and a control means in which, when the real-time information is detected by the real-time information detecting means, video playback from the VOD distribution server is automatically temporarily suspended and the display screen based on the real-time information is outputted by the real-time information output means.
