Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle traveling controller achieving stable follow-up traveling control without applying, to follow-up traveling control, a relative speed between a vehicle and a preceding vehicle erroneously detected by a radar means adversely affected by a road surface multi-path, while applying the properly determined relative speed between the vehicle and the preceding vehicle to the follow-up traveling. SOLUTION: In a traveling controller 1 is configured to: store a plurality of latest relative speeds detected by a relative speed detection part, and applied to follow-up traveling control into a relative speed storage part; detect the receiving strength of a reflected wave from a preceding vehicle using a millimeter wave radar by a relative speed conversion part; decide whether or not the decrease rate of the reception strength is equal to or more than a set value; and when the decision result is positive, apply the relative speed corresponding to the latest relative speed stored in the relative speed storage part to the follow-up traveling control.
