IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND ACTIVATION CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an activation control method capable of changing the configuration of a power unit and activating a connected device and/or a device in its own apparatus by optimal power consumption and activation time (time required for activation). SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 is an apparatus for activating the connected device 200 and/or the device in its own apparatus to perform requesting processing and has an acquiring means (S103 to S105) for acquiring information about the connected device 200, information about a start-up type of its own apparatus, and information about the maximum usable power belonging to a power unit 60, a specifying means (S107) for assuming the connected device 200 and/or the device in its own apparatus on the basis of the acquired information and specifying a corresponding activation pattern among a plurality of activation patterns for defining preset activation timing of the device, and an activation control means (S108) for controlling activation of the device 200.
