OPTICAL DEVICE AND PROJECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device and a projector achieving light weight and a low cost by improving the flatness of a reflective member having flexibility. SOLUTION: The optical device is equipped with: a plurality of reflective type light modulating devices modulating a plurality of color beams by color in accordance with image information; a plurality of flexible wire grids 441 polarizing and separating luminous fluxes with which the reflective type light modulating devices are irradiated and luminous fluxes modulated by the reflective type light modulating devices; a cross-dichroic prism 443 synthesizing a modulated beam by colors modulated by the plurality of reflective type light modulating devices to form an image beam; a holding member 5 holding the wire grids 441; and an adjusting member 7 disposed between the holding face 521 of the holding member 5 holding the wire grids 441 and the wire grids 441 and adjusting the flatness of the wire grids 441. Therefore the flatness of the wire grids 441 can be improved by inserting the adjusting member 7 between the wire grids 441 and the holding face 521. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
