EXHAUST EMISSION CONTROL DEVICE FOR ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an engine capable of efficiently radiating heat from a heat storage material and storing heat in the heat storage material and efficiently activating an exhaust gas purification catalyst with simple means. SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device performs control so that when the temperature of exhaust gas discharged from an engine 13 is a prescribed value or less, a flow passage is controlled by a valve member 29, the exhaust gas is made to flow in a second branch passage 19, and heat is radiated from the heat storage material 25; and when the heat radiation function of the heat storage material 25 is lowered accompanying this heat radiation and reaches a prescribed heat radiation limit, the flow passage is switched by the valve member 29 to make the exhaust gas flow to a first branch passage 17, the second branch passage 19 is reduced in pressure by a pressure-reducing means 31, and moisture is removed from the heat storage material 25.
