DEVICE FOR SETTING SOCKET WELDING GAP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for setting a socket welding gap capable of properly performing an insertion depth of a pipe in relation to a socket. SOLUTION: A marking-off line f is put from the end 12A of the pipe 12 to an L dimension position with a blade. A depth b dimension of the socket 10 is measured. A dimension measuring tool is connected to a fit-up tool 36, and the pipe 12 is held with the holding part 42 of the fit-up tool 36. The end 42E of the holding part 42 is made to abut on the open end 10A of the socket 10, the end 12A of the pipe 12 is inserted into the socket 10, and the pipe 12 when a dimension measuring tool measures a length e dimension from the opening end 10A of the socket 10 of the marking-off line f after the pipe 12 secures a gap is temporarily fixed to the holding part 42 with a temporary fixing means. As a result, the pipe 12 is inserted into the socket 10 with a prescribed gap.
