Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalyst for removing heavy metal ions in a liquid, which can allow heavy metal ions existing in the liquid to be reduced by light irradiation and precipitated as heavy metals and can allow the precipitated heavy metals to be removed at a low cost and in high efficiency without using a noble metal such as platinum and to provide a method for removing heavy metal ions from the heavy metal ion-containing liquid by using the photocatalyst for removing heavy metal ions in the liquid. SOLUTION: The photocatalyst for removing heavy metal ions in the liquid is obtained by dispersing/depositing an iron oxyhydroxide fine particle on a titanium oxide photocatalyst or a cerium oxide-based photocatalyst.
