VIBRATION REDUCING DEVICE AND DISK DRIVE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration reducing device of a disk drive. SOLUTION: The device includes an optical pickup base 10 with an optical pickup 16 installed thereon movably. A spindle motor 18 is installed at a tip of the optical pickup base 10, a turntable 20 for placing stably a disk is provided at a rotary shaft of the spindle motor 18. On the other hand, a vibration reducing device 30 reducing vibration caused at the optical pickup base 10 is installed on the optical pickup base 10. The vibration reducing device 30 includes a fixing tool 32 installed so as to be fixed to a plane of the optical pickup base 10, a cantilevered support bar 36 which extends at one side of the fixing tool 32 and is elastically deformable, and a vibration proof weight 38 provided at the tip of the supporting bar 36. The vibration reducing device is made of one module and can be installed at a place at which vibration response is large depending on design conditions, thereby effectively reducing vibration.
