Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a graphite film excellent in bending resistance and thermal diffusivity and having less variation of its surface thickness, wrinkle and break, and to drastically improve workability in a compression process. SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a graphite film including: a graphitizing process for heat-treating a polymeric film having the thickness of ≥5 μm but ≤250 μm at 2,400°C or higher; and a post-planar pressurization process for bringing a graphitized film obtained by the above process into contact with a compression surface having the surface resistivity of 1×109 Ω/square and for pressurizing the film in a plane form under the pressure of 2-40 MPa.
